Welcome to my blog! This blog is basically an extension of myself where I ramble on my passions in running and, occasionally, photography.

I’m based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, managing IT Risk and Control in a financial institution during the day while pursuing my running goals during my spare time. I’ve been a runner for most of my life. I ran my first half marathon in Penang and completing it in 2:10 when I was 15, on a dare by my father. It was until many years later that, to celebrate the birth of my elder son in 2003 (I’ve 2 boys), I ran my first marathon in Singapore. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Under-trained and inexperienced, I suffered like crazy, finishing over 5:35. Since then, I’ve run 31 marathons (as of July 2016), 6 50Ks, and an 84K footrace around Penang Island. Highlight races include the 2008 ING NYC Marathon2012 Tokyo Marathon and the 2014 Nagano Marathon. My best Marathon timing so far is 3:47 achieved at the 2017 Gold Coast Airport Marathon, my 32nd marathon, and 4th under 4 hours). Having participated in the GCAM since 2011, you’d be correct to say that I’ve fond memories of the place and of course, the race. I was appointed as an Event Advocate for the 2015 edition of the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, a role I truly enjoyed.

One of the most rewarding aspects of running has been the opportunities to guide people of all ages who are new to the sport. As a past Saucony Malaysia Ambassador (2016-2017), facilitating group runs such as the brand’s running clinics,  RunnersMalaysia Beginners Running Program, the Running Lab weekly group run or the ongoing GCAM Team Malaysia-In-Training as well as conducting running clinics, has allowed me to continuously engage runners of all levels. Other than this blog, I’ve written guest posts for the Malaysian editions of FHM, Men’s Health and Esquire magazines.

If you’ve not realized it, I’m a certifiable shoe geek! I’m privileged to have worked with major shoe companies in running shoe reviews which I post here.

I picked up photography in April of 2009 to provide myself a creative outlet and have grown to enjoy it. It teaches me to slow down, observe and interact with my subjects and surroundings, and in the process learn to appreciate what we have. The gallery section of my site has some of my works. I’ve had a hard time fitting in the hobby, though – family and running take up whatever hours I’ve left after work!
